Day-1. DEPARTURE CITY – LISBON: Overnight flight to Lisbon.

Day-2. LISBON: Arrive in Lisbon, check into your centrally located hotel, and go for a walking tour with your tour director up to the Tagus River.

Day-3. LISBON: Start your day with a guided city tour of Lisbon. First explore the Tower of Belem, the symbol of Lisbon, guarding the mouth of the Tagus River. Then go for a short ride to Praca do Imperio to visit the famous Jeronimo’s Monastery containing the tombs of Vasco da Gama and Luis de Camoes. Five hundred years ago the monastery was the site of a modest chapel where departing and arriving seafarers came to pray. King Manuel transformed it into this remarkable monument, a prayer to the Virgin of Belém for the success of Vasco da Gama’s voyage to India. Drive past the Bull Ring to the Pombal Statue, and along the grand Avenida da Liberdade. Later visit Alfama district.

Day-4. SINTRA – CASCAIS – LISBON: Travel by your bus to nearby Sintra, the Royal retreat town. On the guided tour visit/see the magnificent Paco Real, Palacio da Vila, Church of Sao Martinho, Church of Misericordia, Hanging Post, and the Clock Tower. Continue to Cascais, the international tourist destination on the coast of the Atlantic. It is famous for exclusive hotels, casinos, and summer homes of European aristocracy. Return to Lisbon. Free time in Lisbon for some shopping before dinner.

Day-5. LISBON – SEVILLE: Early in the morning board your bus and depart to Seville. Travel through beautiful Portuguese and Spanish countryside. Arrive in Seville and after a break go for a walking tour with your tour director.

Day-6. SEVILLE: In the morning go for a guided tour of Seville. It will include well-known sites such as the Cathedral with its famous clock tower La Giralda, the Tomb of Christopher Columbus, Alcazares Reales, once the home of the Moorish rulers of Al-Andalus, Maria Luisa Park, University, and more. Free afternoon for some more exploring or shopping. In the evening go for an optional Flamenco Show in a typical Andalusian theatre.

Day-7. SEVILLE – GRANADA – TORREMOLINOS: Continue your journey by bus to go to Granada and have a guided visit of the enchanting palace of Alhambra. This beautiful Moorish Palace was once home to the Moorish Kings of Granada. Go on to Generalife Gardens, the amazing park of the palace. Continue to the city of Granada and visit its magnificent Cathedral. Continue to Torremolinos for the overnight and dinner.

Day-8. TORREMOLINOS – MIJAS: Explore Torremolinos, a town that became famous during the siege of Malaga by the Catholic Kings in 1498. In the afternoon board a local bus (optional) for a ride to Sierra Mijas to visit the tourist town of  Mijas with its bullfighting arena. 

Day-9. MALAGA – DEPARTURE: Transfer to the airport in Malaga for your flight home.

Board your bus for a ride to the Rock of Gibraltar. Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory. Take the cable car to the top of the Rock, enjoy the view, and the friendly monkeys playing around. The British Army is taking very good care of them. The legend goes that when the last monkey is gone Gibraltar goes back to Spain. Visit St. Michael’s Caves and return to the town. Continue to Marbella and Puerto Banus. Both places are playgrounds for World’s rich and famous. Enjoy some great gelato and walk to the marina. In the late afternoon return to Torremolinos.
