Delphi is the site of the original Pythian Games. It was a meeting place for poets, philosophers, writers, and politicians. First, visit the Archeological Museum where the local tour guide will tell you the story of this magical place. The best artifacts from the site are stored in the museum. Walk on with the local guide and see the Temple of Apollo, Delphic Senate, Arcades, and the Club of Knidians, and more. Board your bus and cross the bridge over the Gulf of Corinth to reach Olympia for the overnight.

Day-4. OLYMPIA – TOLO: Go for a guided tour of Ancient Olympia, the original site of the first Olympic Games in 776 BC. Visit the remains of the Gymnasium, see the columns of the Wrestling School. In Nafplion enjoy a walking tour through the former Ottoman Area, port, and the fish market.  Free afternoon in the beach village of Tolo.

Day-6. TOLO – ARGOLIS – ATHENS: Journey through the Peloponnese. Stop in Epidaurus for a guided visit of the beautifully preserved and acoustically perfect ancient theatre. This huge theatre, known for its symmetry and beauty, was used for dramatic performances and orators. The theatre’s acoustic design provided near-perfect intelligibility of an unamplified spoken word from the proscenium or skene to all 15,000 spectators, regardless of their seating. Continue by your bus to Mycenae for a guided tour of the remains of the Palace of King Agamemnon. Enter the palace through the Lion’s Gate the well-known example of Bronze age architecture. It was excavated in 1874 by Heinrich Schliemann the German amateur archaeologist who also discovered the ruins of Troy. Mycenaean’s true greatness came during the Late Bronze Age (1400-1200 BC) when it was a strong center of military and economic power. Continue to Athens and stop at the Corinth Bridge. The bridge goes over the man-made canal between the Saronic and Corinth Gulfs. Go on to Athens and your centrally located hotel for the overnight.
