Day-1. DEPARTURE CITY – PARIS: Overnight flight to Paris.

Day-2. PARIS: Arrive in Paris and start with the guided city tour by bus. See: Eiffel Tower, Opéra Garnier, Place de la Concorde, Place de la Bastille, Place de la République, Obélisque de Louxor, Champs-Élysées, Ecole Militaire, Tuileries Gardens, Les Invalides, Quartier Latin, Jardin du Luxembourg, and more. At the end of the city tour arrive at your centrally located hotel and check-in. In the evening join your tour director on a walking tour to Basilica Sacre Coeur and the artistic Montmartre.

Day-3. PARIS: Walk to Île de la Cité to see the Notre Dame Cathedral. Continue along Pont Neuf and Place Dauphine to Louvre for a guided tour. The professional guide from the museum will show you the most important artifacts and tell you about the history of the museum and the history of art. Explore the wonderful collection of sculptures and paintings including Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci, Venus de Milo, Nike the Winged Victory of Samothrace, and more. In the afternoon walk through Tuileries Gardens and along the Seine to Pont d’Alma where you will board the Bateaux Mouches for a cruise along the river Seine.

Day-4. PARIS – VERSAILLES: Take a local train to Versailles to visit the lavish palace built by Louis the XIV. On a guided tour visit the Royal Chambers, Hall of the Mirrors, Drawing Rooms, Royal Chapel, and more. Walk in the magnificent gardens just like Marie Antoinette used to do. In the afternoon return to Paris and to Champ d’ Mars where you will take the elevator to the highest point of the Eiffel Tower for a great view of the city.

Day-5. PARIS – NÎMES – AVIGNON: Start the day with the TGV train ride to Nîmes. Explore the city built by Julius Caesar and developed by Emperor Augustus. Visit the Arena, the remains of the Roman fortification at Le Castelum, and the 4th century Maison Carrée. Continue by your bus to Avignon and your hotel located inside the city walls for the overnight.

Day-6. AVIGNON: Enjoy a walking tour of Avignon, a great medieval city, and the center of European Christianity for over 400 years. On a guided tour visit Palais des Papes where Pope Clement V sought refuge from the turmoil in Rome in the 14th century, Pont d’ Avignon, and Place de l’Horloge. Free afternoon or take the optional tour to Orange, the old Roman trade center.

Day-7. AVIGNON –  CANNES – NICE: Travel on your bus along the Côte d’Azur to Cannes, the famous resort of the rich and famous. It is a European film festival town as well. Walk with your tour director along Promenade de la Croisette, Old Harbor, and Le Suquet the oldest part of the city. Continue with your bus to Nice and your hotel located on the famous Promenade des Anglais for the overnight. In the evening join your tour director on a walking tour along Avenue Médicin and the beaches.

Day-8. EZE – MONTE CARLO – NICE: In the morning board your bus for a ride to the cliff village of Eze for a guided tour of the famous perfume factory. Continue to Monte Carlo. See the Casino, Royal Palace, and the changing of the guards as well as the Botanical Gardens. Optional visit to Jacques Custeau’s Oceanographic Museum. Return to Nice

Day-9. DEPARTURE: Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
